Activating a Tigo SIM

Tigo offers a self-activation process for its auto-activation SIM cards.

Before buying, check which identification documents the process accepts. Tigo provides instructions for Paraguayan identity cards and for supported passports or foreign identity documents. Its guide lists the countries supported by that second process.

To activate:

  1. Insert the new SIM. Tigo instructs dual-SIM users to insert only the SIM being activated during this process.
  2. Open the activation page shown in Tigo's guide.
  3. Scan or enter the SIM barcode and choose your document type.
  4. Follow the document-photo and face-verification steps.
  5. Check your details and complete the activation.

Tigo says you'll receive a message with your assigned number when activation is complete.
