Buying mbejú in Asunción: café orders, producer outlets and cooking at home

Mbejú is worth knowing as an ordinary breakfast or snack option, rather than something you need a special outing to try. For a useful first purchase, decide whether you want a hot, ready-to-eat order, a filled café version or dough to cook at home. The suppliers below publish different kinds of evidence; a product catalogue is not a guarantee that every branch has it today.

El Café de Acá: a priced starting point

The café’s official website links directly to its Fiweex ordering menu. On 19 October 2026 that menu listed the following examples:

Menu itemPublished price
Mbeju clásicoGs. 26,000
Jamón y quesoGs. 32,000
Tres quesosGs. 34,000
CapreseGs. 36,000

These are dated online-menu examples, not confirmed prices for every branch, delivery charge or future visit. The selector listed Carmelitas, Textilia, Paseo La Galería and Los Laureles. Choose the intended branch before checking availability. The menu displayed 07:00–22:00 daily as ordering hours, but also said it was not receiving delivery orders at the moment checked. That does not prove that every dining room follows the same hours.

The official website gives WhatsApp +595 973 153040. Ask for the branch pin, current price and whether the order is freshly prepared for eating there or packed for collection. This avoids sending a driver to a different El Café de Acá.

A producer option near your routine

Hijas de Feliciana de Fariña’s traditional-food catalogue separately lists mbejú. Its outlet directory identifies the central shop at Gines 1013 near Perú (map; +595 21 222899 / 208247) and Shopping Mariscal at Quesada 233 at Charles de Gaulle (+595 981 693932). Call the convenient outlet for today’s stock and price; the catalogue did not establish a current mbejú price or timetable.

Ask about the base, not just the filling

“Sin jamón” only removes ham. For vegetarian or vegan needs, ask about cheese, milk, butter or animal fat in the base and cooking surface. A cassava-based product name alone is not a gluten-free handling guarantee; explain any allergy and ask about ingredients and cross-contact.

The café menu also lists 500 g ready-to-cook mbejú dough. Confirm whether it needs refrigeration, its use-by date and cooking instructions. Ask what quantity the café portion serves before treating the dough pack and a prepared order as equivalent purchases.
