Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information openasu.com collects when you visit, why, and what you can do about it. Open Asu is a WhatsApp community with in-person plans every week, where Paraguayans and people from everywhere else make new friends. "We" means the people who run Open Asu and this site.

The short version

• You can read every page on this site without an account. The only form is the optional #AsuBingo signup, which asks for your email address.
• We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to see which pages people read and how they use them.
• We don't sell your information to anyone.
• When you join our WhatsApp or Telegram group, those apps' own privacy policies apply.

What we collect

Analytics. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read, how they found the site, the type of device and browser they use, and their approximate location (city or country level). Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technology to do this.

Usage insights. We use Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors scroll and click, through heatmaps and session replays, so we can fix pages that are hard to use. Clarity uses first- and third-party cookies and similar technology. By using this site, you agree that we and Microsoft can collect and use this data, as described in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

Server logs. Like any website, the company that hosts this site may record standard technical information when your browser requests a page, such as your IP address, the page requested, the time and your browser type.

Email signup. If you sign up for an #AsuBingo card, we collect your email address through Sendiio, our email service. We use it to send your card and occasional emails about Open Asu plans and meetups. Every email has an unsubscribe link. The signup form uses Google reCAPTCHA to block spam.

Your bingo card. Your card, your stamps and the name you put on it are saved in your browser on your own device, not on our servers. Clearing your browser data removes them, so use "Send it to myself" to keep a link to your card.

We don't collect your phone number or payment details on this site.

Why we use it

To understand which guides are useful, fix what isn't working, and decide what to write next. We look at the numbers in aggregate. We don't use them to identify you, and we don't run ads on this site.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers named above (Google, Microsoft, Sendiio, our email delivery provider and our hosting provider), which process the information on our behalf and under their own privacy policies. We don't sell, rent or trade personal information. We would disclose information only if the law required it.

WhatsApp, Telegram and other links

This site links to our WhatsApp and Telegram groups and to other websites, including venues, event organizers, government offices and news sources. When you follow those links, that service's privacy policy applies, not ours. In a WhatsApp or Telegram group, other members can see what you share there, such as your profile name, photo and, depending on the app and your settings, your phone number. Check your privacy settings in WhatsApp or Telegram before you join.

Your choices

• Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site works without them.
• Install Google's Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
• Use a browser or extension that blocks trackers.
• Ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, using the contact details below. Most of what we see is anonymous aggregate data, so in most cases there is nothing tied to you to delete.

Children

This site and our groups are meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
