Shopping and rainy-day plans
Which Asunción shopping mall fits your day?
Checked 13 October 2026
A mall in Asunción can solve several things at once: a missing travel essential, lunch out of the heat, or a film on a rainy afternoon. The useful question is which one fits the day. Four names come up often, but they are not interchangeable, and you do not need to cross the city to collect all four.

These are our suggestions for planning, rather than a ranking of quality or prices. A branch with the thing you need beats a longer directory. Check stock with the shop itself if you are making a special trip.
Paseo La Galería · Shopping del Sol · Shopping Mariscal · Villa Morra · Plan the visit
Paseo La Galería: give lunch or dinner room in the plan
Choose Paseo when eating out is as important as browsing. Its official site distinguishes the Terrazas restaurants from the food court, so decide which sort of meal you want instead of treating every dining option as the same stop. The terraces and restaurant hours are also not a promise that the shops will remain open that late.
Find it: Avenida Santa Teresa, between Aviadores del Chaco and Herminio Maldonado. The official schedule lists shops Monday–Thursday 09:00–21:00, Friday–Saturday and the eve of holidays 09:00–22:00, and Sunday 10:00–21:00. Terrazas dining runs Sunday–Thursday 11:00–00:00 and Friday–Saturday 11:00–01:00. The food court closes an hour earlier. Cinemark is on level 3; check its current listings for sessions.
If you are meeting friends, name the restaurant or a clear entrance. “At Paseo” leaves too much room for everyone to wait in a different place. For a cinema visit, choose the film, language version and session first, then fit dinner around that.
Shopping del Sol: compare the actual shops, not the mall's reputation
Paseo and Shopping del Sol are the useful pair to compare when you are staying around Aviadores del Chaco. Look up the specific clothes, electronics, personal-care or gift shop you want before setting off. A mall directory tells you a branch exists; it does not establish today's stock, opening time or a bargain.
Find it: Aviadores del Chaco at Profesora Delia González. The official directory includes both shops and dining, with sit-down names such as La Cabrera and La Quesería alongside fast-food options. Cines del Sol is listed too, but the online showtime page was being updated when checked. We could not confirm a current general shop-hours schedule from the official pages; check Shopping del Sol’s channels and the specific business before an early or late trip.
You can plan both malls in the same outing, but do not assume the link between them is a covered indoor walk. Check the pedestrian route and crossings, and make the decision again if it is very hot or raining. If the second mall adds no specific shop or meal you want, a single stop is enough.
If you are visiting from abroad, Shopping del Sol’s tourist programme advertises a 10% discount card requested at its information desk with a passport or identity document. Ask which shops and purchases qualify before counting the saving into your budget.
Shopping Mariscal: the Tuesday market changes the reason to go

Shopping Mariscal makes particular sense if you want to combine shopping with food browsing. Its official site lists Agroshopping on Tuesdays, 07:00–21:00, alongside the complex's Plaza and Mercado dining areas. Check the week's announcement before building the day around the market, especially near holidays.
Find it: Quesada 5050, between Charles de Gaulle and Teniente Zotti. Published shop hours are Monday–Saturday 09:00–21:00 and Sunday 10:00–21:00. The food court runs Sunday–Thursday 11:00–23:00 and Friday–Saturday 11:00–00:00; Plaza and Mercado Mariscal are listed daily 11:00–00:00. Agroshopping is on the ground floor of Block B, so save that detail instead of wandering through the whole complex.
For a visitor, a Tuesday market stop can be more interesting than another lap of clothing shops. Treat it as a food outing: bring a bag, buy only what you can carry comfortably and think about storage before picking up perishables. It is not a substitute for a dedicated handicrafts market; our souvenir guide is a better starting point for ñandutí, ao po'i and ceramics.
Shopping Villa Morra: a focused stop in the neighbourhood
Shopping Villa Morra is a separate destination from Shopping Mariscal, even though both are useful names when planning time around Villa Morra. Do not use the neighbourhood name alone as a ride destination: select the actual mall and check the drop-off pin.
Find it: Avenida Mariscal López 3974 at Senador Long. The official contact page lists shops Monday–Saturday 09:00–21:00 and Sundays/holidays 11:00–21:00, with dining daily 11:00–22:00. Its listed cinema operating hours are 12:30–22:30; these are not individual film times. The mall’s own overview also identifies a pharmacy and financial services, useful when the visit is mainly about errands.
Its own cinema makes a film-and-errands plan possible without automatically going to the Aviadores malls. If the film is the main event, compare sessions rather than mall size. For more of the surrounding area, use our Villa Morra neighbourhood guide.
Make one good stop instead of four rushed ones
For a shopping afternoon: pick the mall containing your priority branch, allow time for lunch or coffee, and keep a second mall optional. We would start with a two- to three-hour block for shopping and a meal; that is a planning suggestion, not a minimum stay.
For a rainy day: choose the cinema session first. Confirm the version shown: subtitulada means subtitled and doblada means dubbed. Check the original language too, rather than assuming every subtitled film is in English. Buy only after confirming the date, venue and seat selection.
For heat relief: plan the journey as carefully as the indoor stop. Save the mall's full name in your map app, choose a clear pickup entrance for the return and avoid making the hottest part of the day a long walk between buildings. Our transport guide covers the wider options.
For a particular purchase: compare the final price and ask the shop about returns, local warranty and compatibility before paying. Avoid assuming imported electronics or branded goods are cheaper merely because you are in Paraguay. Keep the receipt and the retailer's contact details.
Published mall hours are a starting point. Restaurants, supermarkets, cinemas and individual shops can keep different schedules; holidays and special events can change them. Parking prices, validation rules and step-free routes are worth checking directly if they matter to your visit. We have not verified a complete accessible route or accessible toilet provision at each mall.
Before leaving
- Confirm the exact branch or cinema session on the relevant official site.
- Check the day's hours, not just the mall's general closing time.
- Save the correct map pin and agree on a specific meeting or pickup point.
- Leave the second mall optional unless it adds something you actually want.
