Vegetarian and vegan food in Asunción: places, prices and ordering
Eating without meat in Asunción is an everyday decision about lunch, takeaway and what you can reliably order again. Vegetarian, vegan and “healthy” are different claims. The useful starting point is a place that identifies its options, a price you can check and a clear answer about the whole dish, including sauces and cooking fat.
Three places to investigate for different meals
Novecento Asunción publishes vegan options at Av. Molas López and Zubizarreta. Its own page lists daily lunch/dinner hours of 12:00–01:00 and takeaway. Call 0994 111 900 or 0994 112 900 about the actual vegan main courses, kitchen closing time and price. This is useful when you need an evening option, but the published closing time does not guarantee that every dish is served until then. Map search.
SENATUR’s Naturíssima entry describes vegetarian and vegan alternatives and gives Soldado Desconocido, plus code PCC9+49P, Asunción, with +595 986 128514. It does not establish a current timetable or a priced menu. Contact it for today’s food and whether lunch, dinner or takeaway is operating. Map search.
El Café de Acá’s own site links its delivery menu. It is useful for comparing dishes before ordering at home. Choose the delivery area or confirm the branch before treating a listed product as available. We have not verified a dedicated vegan kitchen at any of these venues.

The following are El Café de Acá delivery prices displayed on 18 October 2026, in guaraníes. They are examples of named dishes to ask about, not confirmed vegan meals. The delivery page showed service 07:00–22:00 on the check; it does not establish the opening hours of each dining room.

Delivery, modifications and drinks can change the total. Check the final checkout amount. A dish with “vegetariano” in its name may suit someone who eats eggs and dairy while still being unsuitable for a vegan.
Build a usable everyday shortlist
For a repeat lunch, first check the service day, portion size, collection time and whether the price includes sides. For a late meal, confirm the kitchen’s last order rather than only the venue’s closing time. A buffet needs a separate question about each tray and its serving utensils; the price may be by weight or by plate, so ask before filling one.
Do not rely on “sin carne” alone: say “No como carne, pollo ni pescado; tampoco caldo ni grasa animal.” For vegan food add “Tampoco leche, queso, huevo ni miel.” Ask about mayonnaise, butter, broth and the bread or batter as well as the main ingredient. Removing visible cheese does not remove dairy already in a sauce.
Chipa and mbeju are not automatically plant-based because they use cassava. The cited INAN chipa recipe includes milk, cheese and eggs. An allergy or coeliac requirement is a separate question about ingredients and cross-contact; a vegan label is not an allergy protocol. No. Vegetarian dishes can include eggs and dairy. Explain all the animal ingredients you avoid.
Are these fully vegan restaurants?
No such claim is made. Novecento explicitly lists vegan options; Naturíssima’s tourism entry describes alternatives; the café menu provides vegetarian leads requiring ingredient checks.
Can I use these prices for eating in?
They are dated delivery prices from one menu. Confirm dining-room prices, branch availability and charges separately.
